New destinations compete to attract international students in times of anti-immigrant rhetoric in UK and US

The number of globally mobile international students doubled to reach 4 million between the period 1999 and 2013. Every third globally mobile student is enrolled in an American or British institution of higher education. However, with the Brexit and American Presidential elections, 2016 is likely to affect the choices of many international students and prompting them to consider alternative destinations.

In my keynote presentation, “Three Waves of International Student Mobility: Implications for Recruitment and Partnership Strategies,” at International Universities Networking Conference - IUNC Eurasia 2017 in Moscow, Russia, I highlighted that institutions are facing an environment of hyper-competition, uncertainty and declining resources for attracting international students.

IUNC Conference Moscow features Dr. Rahul Choudaha as a keynote speaker on international student trends

The 6th Annual International Universities Networking Conference - IUNC Eurasia 2017 will take place from May 15-18, 2017 in Moscow, Russia. The conference attracts about 250 international higher education professionals from around the world with the goals of learning more about the opportunities of building partnerships for recruitment, research, and exchanges with universities from Russia & CIS. This year IUNC is also hosting a BRICS HigherEd Cooperation Forum that provides a platform for developing university partnerships among institutions from BRICS countries.

IUNC 2016 Miami for establishing internationalization strategies in emerging markets

International Universities Networking Conference (IUNC) will be hosting its North America conference in Miami from February 11-12, 2016. IUNC is supported by Universities Union of Eurasia (UUE) and Eastern European University Association (EEUA).
